Sombr Brings Out 5 Seconds of Summer for Surprise Lollapalooza Duet on "She Looks So Perfect"
American pop singer Sombr pulled off one of the summer's biggest festival surprises at Lollapalooza in Chicago on Thursday, July 30, 2026, bringing out all four members of 5 Seconds of Summer — Luke Hemmings, Michael Clifford, Calum Hood and Ashton Irwin — mid-set. The band first backed Sombr on his new song "Back to Friends," then joined him for a cover of their own 2014 breakout hit "She Looks So Perfect." Footage of the moment quickly spread across social media.

A big year for Sombr
The Lollapalooza moment caps a run of high-profile appearances for Sombr. In April 2026 he shared a stage with Billy Corgan and Billy Idol at Coachella, where he also covered a Radiohead classic. That same month he picked up two nominations at the BRIT Awards 2026 — International Artist and International Song, for "Undressed" — telling reporters at the ceremony that he's deeply influenced by British music, naming The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Elton John, Oasis and The Stone Roses as idols. His debut studio album, I Barely Know Her, came out in summer 2025 and earned a four-star review from NME, which called it "smart, emotionally rich and unexpectedly full of life."
