Soccer Mommy Reissues Debut EP "For Young Hearts" for Its 10th Anniversary
Soccer Mommy (Sophie Allison) is marking the 10th anniversary of her 2016 debut EP "For Young Hearts" with a deluxe reissue, and has announced she'll share a stage with Chicago emo band American Football in Nashville. According to Stereogum, "For Young Hearts" was the release that took Allison from Bandcamp bedroom recordings to wider public attention. Exact show dates and venue have not yet been announced.

"For Young Hearts" originally came out in 2016 as Soccer Mommy's first official EP release. The new deluxe edition marks its 10th anniversary, with the reissue's contents and release format handled by her label; Stereogum shared the news alongside the announcement.
Before "For Young Hearts," Allison had already posted several batches of self-recorded material on Bandcamp, including "songs for the recently sad" (since taken down from the platform) and the two-part "songs from my bedroom." Counting those, "For Young Hearts" isn't technically her first release — but it was the breakthrough that got her noticed by fans and press alike.
Alongside 2016's other Best New Bands
"For Young Hearts" landed Soccer Mommy a spot on Stereogum's 2016 Best New Bands list. Most of the other names on that same list have since become fixtures of the indie music world.
