Rough Trade's 50th Anniversary Tour Hits Osaka and Tokyo This September
British independent label Rough Trade is marking its 50th anniversary with two shows in Japan, co-headlined by label act caroline and My New Band Believe, the new project from former black midi member Cameron Picton. The label's founder Geoff Travis and co-manager Jeannette Lee will appear as DJs at both dates, promoted by BEATINK.
What was announced
The tour plays Osaka's META VALLEY on Wednesday, September 30, followed by Tokyo's O-EAST on Thursday, October 1 (2026). Rather than a talk or panel format, Travis and Lee are folding into the show itself as DJs, bookending sets from the two co-headliners.

Who's on the bill
caroline has become one of Rough Trade's more prominent acts in recent years; their album caroline 2, released last year, drew notice in Japan as well, and this run follows that release. My New Band Believe is Cameron Picton's new outfit since black midi, making its Japan appearance as the tour's other co-headliner.
Geoff Travis founded Rough Trade in 1976, with Jeannette Lee as the label's longtime co-manager. Instead of a lecture or Q&A appearance, the pair are taking DJ slots woven directly into both nights' running order.
