Roger Taylor Backs a Queen Tour Reboot: "Never Say Never"

Queen drummer Roger Taylor says he'd be happy to get the band back on the road — but the decision ultimately rests with guitarist Brian May. Speaking to BBC Radio 2, and quoted by Blabbermouth, Taylor said: "It takes a lot to get this machine going again. But I love playing live, I always have." He added that if both he and May are willing, he's in. "Never say never."

Where things stand: Lambert says nothing's booked, May has US concerns

Singer Adam Lambert, who has fronted Queen for over a decade, told Smooth Radio last month that "there's nothing in the books" for Queen right now, but stressed the band has never formally called it quits: "It's entirely their decision — I'm a guest."

May, for his part, told the Daily Mail in January that he has no plans to tour the US given the current political climate there: "Everyone's reconsidering whether to go there right now." Still, May told Rolling Stone last year that Queen has been in talks for a residency at The Sphere in Las Vegas: "I'm very keen — we're talking about it."

Recent activity: a short Japan run and Taylor's solo album

Queen's most recent Asia dates with Lambert were a brief tour of Japan in early 2024; their last North American shows were in 2023. In the meantime, Taylor has recorded a new solo album, A Beautiful World, set for release on September 18, 2026, with a UK tour to follow.
