PENPALS Mark 30th Anniversary with Re-recorded Best-Of "NEVERMIND," Out September 2

Japanese band PENPALS (ペンパルズ) mark their 30th anniversary this year with the release of a re-recorded best-of album, NEVERMIND (catalog number TCRD-045), out September 2, 2026 (Wednesday) via TESTCARD RECORDS. The album drops simultaneously on CD and digital formats, priced at ¥2,200 (tax included), distributed by PCI MUSIC.

Production and Tracklist Concept

NEVERMIND collects 13 songs, all newly re-recorded in 2026. The selection process is distinctive: each of the band's three members picked two songs written by each of the other two members, totaling 13 tracks — a structure that reflects PENPALS' identity as a band where every member writes songs and every member sings lead.

Recording, mixing, and mastering were all handled by the members themselves in a private studio. The band and label are positioning this not as a standard compilation or greatest-hits reissue, but as the group's latest full-length album. The CD edition also includes three bonus live tracks, recorded at their June 13, 2026 show at HIGH.
