Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds to Take Over Brighton Indie Record Shop Resident Ahead of Preston Park Show

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds will take over Brighton independent record shop Resident from Thursday, July 30 to Sunday, August 2, 2026, running a series of pop-up activities to coincide with their headline show at Preston Park on Friday, July 31. The UK-exclusive date is part of the band's tour behind their 2024 album Wild God, with support from The Flaming Lips, English Teacher, Cate Le Bon, and Warmduscher.

What's happening at Resident

The shop will host a merch pop-up featuring existing and new items, including designs made specifically for the Preston Park show that will only be available at Resident and at the venue. Fans can also pick up an exclusive tote bag co-created with Resident, alongside a range of classic Bad Seeds and Cave Things merchandise.

Resident will also release a limited vinyl (details to be announced), along with discounts across the band's catalogue and a prize draw. The shop will set up a special physical mailbox where fans can drop off handwritten letters for Cave's Red Hand Files project. Film season and tour update

Over the same weekend, Nick Cave will take over Brighton's Duke Of York's Picturehouse, curating a five-film season of works that shaped his creative life, each introduced by a recorded intro from Cave himself.

Ahead of Preston Park, the band continues its European summer run: they played Open'er 2026 last week, followed by NOS Alive, and performed at Mad Cool on Saturday, July 11. Upcoming dates include Way Out West, ØYA, and Rock En Seine. Earlier this year, Cave revealed the band had done some initial studio exploring, considering recording a follow-up to Wild God, with participating members including Martyn P. Casey, Thomas Wydler, Jim Sclavunos, and Warren Ellis.
