The Linda Lindas Announce New Single "Closer" ft. Hayley Williams, Out July 10

All-female punk band The Linda Lindas have announced a new single, "Closer," arriving on all streaming platforms Friday, July 10, 2026. The track features Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams and marks the band's first release since signing to Reprise/Warner.

From shared stages to the studio

The Linda Lindas' relationship with Williams goes back to 2021, when the band went viral for a live performance of "Racist, Sexist Boy." The two acts have stayed close since: in 2023, The Linda Lindas served as direct support on Paramore's final official tour run, and in 2025 Williams made a surprise appearance on stage with the band at London's O2 Academy Islington.

Since a preview clip of "Closer" surfaced, fans have noted that Williams' vocals lean into the grunge and screamo textures of Paramore's debut album, All We Know Is Falling. In their announcement, the band wrote: "We cannot wait for everyone to hear this song. Working with Hayley Williams has been amazing, like a dream."

What both acts have been up to

Since Paramore announced an official hiatus, Williams has kept busy with outside collaborations, teaming up with David Byrne, Turnstile, and Failure. She's also released new music under the alias Power Snatch alongside Daniel James, with London artist Tiberius B also joining in — a run of tracks that arrived toward the end of the UK/Europe leg of her solo tour behind Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party.

The Linda Lindas, for their part, released "Burning Out" this past June, their first new music since 2024's No Obligation. The band has also picked up a public endorsement from Olivia Rodrigo, who said she loved the band's merch and praised their talent after receiving some. "Closer" pushes this cross-generational partnership a step further when it lands on all platforms July 10.
