Lin Sheng-hsiang Marks 30 Years with Two-City "Like Lightning" Anniversary Shows
Taiwanese Hakka rock musician Lin Sheng-hsiang is marking 30 years of live performance with a two-city anniversary run titled Like Lightning (人生如電), part of Legacy Presents' 2026 "Iron Man, Tender Heart" series. The Taipei date lands August 21, 2026 at Legacy TERA; the Taichung date follows September 13, 2026 at Legacy Taichung. Organizers say the two shows will run entirely different setlists and programming, not a repeat bill. Tickets are on sale now.

From 1997 to film scoring
Lin has toured since 1997, through multiple lineup changes and band breakups and reformations, while also becoming known for activism tied to the Meinong anti-dam movement and rural Hakka community issues. His performances have ranged from rural Hakka villages to Taiwan's National Concert Hall and international stages.
In 2017, the film The Great Buddha+ opened a second career for Lin as a film composer; he has since scored seven film, documentary and TV projects. The anniversary title, Like Lightning, is drawn from the Diamond Sutra line likening all things to "a dream, an illusion, a bubble, a shadow, like dew or a flash of lightning," echoing his near-decade of parallel work in music and film scoring.
