Bon Iver's Justin Vernon Wrote a Jingle for a Minnesota Bar's Meatloaf Dippers

Justin Vernon, frontman of Bon Iver, has a new piece of work out — but it's not a single. It's an advertising jingle. Vernon wrote and recorded the tune for Howard's Bar in downtown Stillwater, Minnesota, built around a menu item called Meatloaf Dippers. In the song, Vernon invites listeners to "warm our tummy." The jingle dropped in late August alongside an accompanying ad.

The video that accompanies the jingle uses hand-drawn animation, made by animator Nick Stokes (@nick___stokes). Both the song and the animated spot were released together in late August.
Why a bar in Stillwater
Howard's Bar sits in downtown Stillwater, roughly an hour-plus drive from Eau Claire, Wisconsin — Vernon's longtime home base. Local, small-scale collaborations like this aren't new territory for Vernon; this time the partner is a bar in a neighboring town rather than a hometown institution.
