Jake Bugg Announces Seventh Album 'Alamo,' Out November 13

British singer-songwriter Jake Bugg has announced his seventh studio album, Alamo, set for release on November 13 via Thirty Tigers. The announcement comes with the lead single "Never Can Tell." Bugg has also confirmed a 10-date solo tour across the UK and Ireland in February 2027.
The album and its sound
Alamo is produced by longtime Bugg collaborator Jimmy Hogarth (Amy Winehouse, Paolo Nutini) alongside Steve McKewan (Chris Stapleton, Eminem), with a sound that leans more folk than his previous work. Speaking to NME, Bugg said the record deals with a recent personal low point, describing it as introspective and unpolished. After years of touring and recording, he said it felt like time to look inward, adding that the past two years had been difficult and that he's still working out where those struggles came from. He described the album's premise as honesty — tearing down defenses he'd built up over time. His previous album, A Modern Day Distraction, came out in 2024 and was influenced, he said at the time, by Green Day.
The lead single
"Never Can Tell" carries traces of Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen, and is about how friendships sour after fame. Bugg said that given his background, he's had to stay wary of the people around him, finding it hard to know who to trust and ultimately relying on instinct.
