HYBE Set to Bring Weverse Con Festival to India for the First Time
South Korean entertainment giant HYBE will bring its in-house festival Weverse Con Festival to India, marking the event's first edition held outside Korea. The news came via IQ Magazine's weekly industry newsletter The Load Out (issue dated October 9, 2026), which flagged the announcement as part of a broader surge of live-industry activity in India that same week.
No venue, city, lineup or ticketing details have been announced yet — those specifics are expected in a later announcement from organizers.
A big week for India's live industry
IQ framed its roundup around what it called "India's big week," noting that the country saw a cluster of major live-music news within days of each other: an international festival's first local edition, plus full national tour announcements from two of India's biggest stars.
Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh and streaming heavyweight Arijit Singh both announced nationwide tours in the same period. BookMyShow, one of India's largest ticketing and promotion platforms, said the scale of domestic touring had reached an unprecedented level. IQ also cited research pointing to a broader decline in Anglo-American artists' grip on global listening habits — with India's current momentum cited as one example of that shift.
Why this fits HYBE's India strategy
The festival announcement isn't HYBE's first move into the Indian market. The company had previously launched an audition/trainee program in India, and the Weverse Con Festival expansion appears to be a continuation of that same market-deepening push.
Weverse Con Festival originated as HYBE's own festival in Korea, built primarily around artists from HYBE's own label roster, with ticketing and livestreaming tied into the company's fan platform, Weverse.
