Geese Play Full Set at Lollapalooza 2026 After United Airlines Loses Their Guitar
Geese played a full set at the Allianz Stage during Lollapalooza in Chicago on Saturday, August 1, 2026. United Airlines had lost one of the band's guitars in transit, forcing frontman Cameron Winter to perform on a substitute instrument — but the band still ran through all 12 songs on their setlist. The festival's opening day was delayed three hours due to flooding from overnight rain, which forced fellow performers Wolf Alice to cut their set nearly in half; Geese's own set schedule was largely unaffected.
The missing guitar, and how the band responded
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Winter opened the show in his signature deadpan style, telling the crowd: "Thank you to United Airlines for losing our guitar. Tonight, all liability falls on United. The quality of the performance... shall we say, is 'up in the air.'" The band then dedicated its opener, "2122," sarcastically to the airline, setting the tone for the rest of the set.
The first half of the show leaned on older material, with "Cowboy Nudes" and "I See Myself" back to back, before the band played the title track from their latest album, Getting Killed. The back half shifted toward newer songs, building tension with "Au Pays du Cocaine" before closing with "Taxes" and "Trinidad," which pushed the crowd's energy to its peak.
