Gamescom Opening Night Live: The Witcher 3 Remaster, Guitar Hero Successor Stage Tour Unveiled

Gamescom's Opening Night Live aired on the evening of August 25, local time, packing in a run of game reveals and updates. The headline news was a major free remaster of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, rolling out September 29. On the music side, the show also brought a Guitar Hero-style successor called Stage Tour, built around a soundtrack of more than 90 songs, and Legends Retold, a Rayman 30th-anniversary title with four music-based levels. Here's what was announced, compiled from NME's coverage of the show.
The music-related reveals
Stage Tour is pitched as a spiritual successor to Guitar Hero, due later this year with a soundtrack of over 90 tracks.
Legends Retold, part of Rayman's 30th-anniversary lineup, launches in October with four music levels — one inspired by 'Macarena' and another drawing on MC Hammer's 'U Can't Touch This'.
The Witcher 3 remaster and Songs Of The Past
The free upgrade launches September 29, bringing improvements to visuals, performance and gameplay. Ahead of the expansion's release, players can get the Hearts Of Stone and Blood And Wine DLCs for free; the expansion itself, Songs Of The Past, is expected next year.
The showcase also brought a new expansion trailer, giving the first full look at the new region Letten. The official press release describes Letten as pastoral, rich in tradition and folklore, with residents living amid harvests and grand festivals — but with dark secrets lurking beneath the surface that Geralt must confront, alongside enemies unlike any he's faced before.
