Final Fantasy X Turns 25: Eternal Calm 2LP Vinyl Now Up for Preorder in UK, Europe and North America
Square Enix is celebrating the 25th anniversary of Final Fantasy X — released in Japan on July 19, 2001, with combined lifetime sales across both X and X-2 topping 21 million copies — with three commemorative vinyl releases. The 2LP set Eternal Calm is now open for preorder via the UK Square Enix Store, with the same release also available across North America and Europe. Shipping is expected in August 2026, priced at £79.99.
Three vinyl releases, three angles
Each release takes a different approach to the FFX soundtrack. The first centers on Nobuo Uematsu's "To Zanarkand," gathering multiple remixes and live versions of the theme. The second, House Grooves, is a 12-track album reworking staples like "Zanarkand," "Seymour Battle" and "A Dream That Will One Day End" into deep house arrangements. Eternal Calm, the 2LP set, pulls 20 tracks from the original soundtrack, composed jointly by Uematsu, Masashi Hamauzu and Junya Nakano.
The vinyl is pressed on clear discs, a nod to the game's seaside world, with jacket artwork featuring a 25th-anniversary illustration by Tetsuya Nomura. Buyers also get a digital download code for 89 soundtrack tracks.
