D4vd's Apple Music Account Hacked, Fake Track "I Did It" Briefly Uploaded Before Removal

D4vd (real name David Anthony Burke), who is currently facing first-degree murder charges, had his Apple Music account hacked during the week of Sunday, July 27, 2026. A fake track titled "I Did It" was uploaded to the platform under his account. According to the BBC, the track's cover art showed an image of an abandoned Tesla. Fox News Los Angeles reported that the song used an "AI-generated version of Burke's voice" and that "the lyrics explicitly named the 14-year-old victim." Apple Music has since removed the track.

Background on the case

Burke is charged with the murder of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez on April 20, 2025, along with additional charges of lewd acts on a child and dismemberment. Hernandez's body was found last year in a Tesla registered to Burke at a tow yard in Hollywood; 11 air fresheners were also found inside the vehicle. Burke has denied all charges and remains free without bail.

July 27 marked the fifth day of the preliminary hearing, with a judge expected to rule soon on whether the case will proceed to a jury trial. On the first day of the hearing, prosecutors alleged that Burke stabbed and dismembered Hernandez with a chainsaw after years of alleged sexual abuse, once she threatened to expose the abuse in a way that could jeopardize his music career. If convicted, Burke could face life in prison or the death penalty.

Apple Music account security incident

The same weekend, Apple Music accounts belonging to Ariana Grande and Korean girl group Katseye were also reportedly hacked, with fake tracks uploaded under their names. The string of intrusions has raised questions about account security on streaming platforms, though Apple has not yet issued a public statement on the matter.
