The Cure to Headline Electric Castle 2026 Closing Night, 24-Song Set Includes Rare 'Secrets'

The Cure will headline the final night of Electric Castle Festival in Romania on Sunday, July 19, 2026, closing out the four-day event with a two-hour, 24-song set. It marks the band's first Romanian performance since 2019, and only the second time they've played the country at all.
Deep cuts meet the hits
One highlight of the setlist is "Secrets," a deep cut from the 1980 album Seventeen Seconds that's been played only a handful of times in recent years. Another rarity, "alt.end," comes from the band's 2004 self-titled album and has only recently returned to the live rotation.
The set draws heavily on 1985's The Head On The Door ("A Night Like This," "In Between Days," "Push") and 1989's Disintegration ("Lovesong," "Lullaby"), before closing with a three-song run of "The Lovecats," "Friday I'm In Love" and "Boys Don't Cry."

Recent activity: Olivia Rodrigo collaboration, Rolling Stones cameo
Robert Smith recently teamed up with Olivia Rodrigo on the new track "What's Wrong With Me," following his surprise appearance during Rodrigo's headline set at Glastonbury 2025. Rodrigo has said in interviews that she still finds the collaboration hard to believe.
Smith also appears on The Rolling Stones' latest album, Foreign Tongues, playing guitar on "Divine Intervention" and contributing synth and backing vocals to "Never Wanna Lose You." As for The Cure's next studio album, Smith has said it won't be a follow-up to 2024's Songs Of A Lost World — instead, he's working on a separate, more "pop"-leaning record.
Also on the Electric Castle closing night bill are Just Mustard and Dogstar (featuring actor Keanu Reeves); Wet Leg has dropped out due to illness. According to NME, the festival kicks off July 16, with an opening-day lineup including Kneecap, Twenty One Pilots and Teddy Swims.
