Chungju Park Music Festival Returns October 2026, Blending Gugak with K-Pop

South Korea's Chungju Park Music Festival, going by the tag CPMF2026, has confirmed its dates: Saturday, October 3 through Sunday, October 4, 2026. The two-day event returns to the lawn plaza at Tangeum Park (탄금공원 잔디광장) in Chungju, a city in North Chungcheong Province, South Korea. This edition carries the subtitle "with GUGAK," building its lineup around young-generation performers of gugak (traditional Korean music) alongside pop, folk, acoustic guitar, K-pop and R&B acts.
Organizers announced on the festival's official Instagram that this year's edition will be roughly double the scale of 2025, following what they describe as a strong response to last year's festival.

Who's behind it
The festival is co-organized by "Cultural City of Korea: Chungju" and BEPC Tangent (㈜비이피씨탄젠트), part of Chungju's cultural city program of outdoor music events. The venue, the lawn plaza at Tangeum Park, is being promoted by organizers as a picnic-style music festival, centered on an outdoor lawn experience in the fall.
Programming will center on "young-generation gugak," extending into pop and R&B and other genres — a cross-genre mix commonly seen in recent Korean local government cultural events. The full artist lineup and ticketing details will be announced progressively on the organizers' social media.
