Chivan Confirmed for 2026 Busan International Rock Festival

Vietnamese singer-songwriter Vũ Thanh Vân, performing under her English-language project name Chivan, has been confirmed for the 2026 Busan International Rock Festival (2026 부산국제록페스티벌). She's set to play on October 2, 2026 (Friday), at Samnak Ecological Park (삼락생태공원) in Busan, South Korea. The festival runs three days total, from October 2 through October 4 (Sunday). The announcement came via the festival's official Instagram account, @busanrockfest, which noted that Chivan was selected as part of a recommended lineup from Vietnamese cultural industry organization VCIDA.

Show details

Who is Chivan

Chivan is the English-language project of Vietnamese singer-songwriter Vũ Thanh Vân, built to reach audiences beyond Vietnam. In the festival's announcement, organizers described her as an artist who has built her own musical world through a powerful voice and detailed songwriting, with the Chivan identity giving her more creative freedom and an international direction.

In August 2026, Chivan released her international debut single "ON&ON," formally launching this new identity and expanding her activities across Asia. This Busan appearance marks her first time performing at a major Korean festival.

VCIDA's Pick

The festival's announcement marked Chivan's inclusion as "VCIDA's Pick." VCIDA is an organization that supports the development and overseas expansion of Vietnam's cultural industries. The Busan International Rock Festival has long been held at Samnak Ecological Park, with a lineup built primarily around Korean and international rock and indie acts.
