Broccoli, you too? Set for First-Ever Taiwan Shows on Aug. 29-30
Korean indie band Broccoli, you too? (브로콜리너마저) will make its long-awaited Taiwan debut this summer, playing a headline show in Taipei on Aug. 29 before appearing at the JAM JAM ASIA festival on Aug. 30. It's the band's first time performing in Taiwan since forming in 2005, and its first overseas festival appearance in two decades.

First overseas festival in twenty years
In a written Q&A provided by the band, drummer 류지 said this marks the group's first overseas festival appearance in its two-decade history, adding that the uncertainty of an unfamiliar live setting is part of what makes it exciting. Guitarist 동혁 noted the band only played its first-ever overseas show, in Osaka, a few months ago.
Vocalist-bassist 윤덕원 has visited Taiwan several times as a traveler but will perform there for the first time. Keyboardist 잔디 kept it simple: "Taiwan!!! Taipei!!!" 동혁 added that while the language barrier is a bit of a shame, he hopes audiences can still feel the tenderness of the music itself.
Starting points: "Yuzu Tea" and "Sky Lantern"
For listeners encountering the band for the first time, 윤덕원 recommends two songs directly tied to Taiwan. "유자차 (Yuzu Tea)" appears on the band's 2008 debut album 보편적인 노래 and is their most widely known song in Korea; for this Taiwan promotion, the band translated the lyrics into Chinese and produced a Chinese-subtitled MV. The other, "풍등 (Sky Lantern)," was inspired by 윤덕원's experience releasing a sky lantern in Taiwan. 류지 instead suggests starting with the band's 2024 fourth album 우리는 모두 실패할 것을 알고 있어요 and working backward to the debut, singling out "춤 (Dance)" and "이웃에 방해가 되지 않는 선에서."
Twenty years, four albums
Broccoli, you too? formed in 2005 to enter a Korean university song festival; after being eliminated, the band self-released a demo that found an audience, and they've been active ever since. Current members are 윤덕원, 동혁, 류지, and 잔디. The band has released four studio albums: 보편적인 노래 (Dec. 9, 2008), 졸업 (Oct. 25, 2010), 속물들 (2019), and 우리는 모두 실패할 것을 알고 있어요 (October 2024), along with a compilation, 골든-힛트 모음집 [앵콜요청금지.], in June 2012. The band has previously shared a stage with Taiwanese band Shallow Levée (淺堤), and 윤덕원 recently bought an album from Kaohsiung's Mint GreeN Mill.
