Bob Dylan's 1976 Tour Gets Massive 39-CD Box Set This November
Bob Dylan's official archive series announced The Rolling Thunder Revue: The 1976 Live Recordings, a 39-CD box set arriving Friday, November 6, 2026. The set spans 381 tracks, 371 of which have never been officially released, drawn from professionally recorded shows during the second leg of the 1976 Rolling Thunder Revue tour. The same day brings a 3LP vinyl edition of the May 16, 1976 Fort Worth concert.
What's in the box
The recordings run from an April 18, 1976 show in Lakeland, Florida through a May 23 date in Fort Collins, Colorado. Rather than compiling a curated best-of, the set preserves each show as performed, including incomplete recordings where they exist. Tracks previously released on Hard Rain or the NBC television special are separately marked.
The 39-CD box includes liner notes by Mikal Gilmore and rare photos. A first taste has already surfaced: the Fort Worth performance of "Going, Going, Gone," from the same concert that anchors the companion 3LP release, which contains 22 tracks total.
Who was on stage
During this second leg of the Rolling Thunder Revue, Joan Baez continued to join Dylan for duets across multiple shows. The touring band included Scarlet Rivera, Mick Ronson, T Bone Burnett, Rob Stoner, Howie Wyeth, Steven Soles, and David Mansfield.
The project follows on from a 14-CD box released in 2019, which documented the first leg of the Rolling Thunder Revue. This new set picks up where that one left off, covering the tour's second leg from 1976.
