Beabadoobee's Fourth Album 'Pylon' Is Out — With Members of Turnstile, Deftones, Paramore and Pinegrove

Beabadoobee has released her fourth studio album, Pylon. The recording lineup brings together members of Turnstile, Deftones, Paramore and Pinegrove, with the record leaning into a heavier, more alternative-rock sound than her previous work. Pitchfork has already published a review of the album.

According to Pitchfork's reporting, Pylon's production and playing credits include musicians from four distinct bands and scenes: hardcore/alternative act Turnstile, alternative metal veterans Deftones, emo-pop mainstays Paramore, and indie rock band Pinegrove. The four groups span different generations and scenes, and together they've pushed Beabadoobee away from her established bedroom-pop and '90s-indie textures toward a heavier, sharper-edged sound.

Pitchfork describes the guest contributions as pulling Beabadoobee toward something "slightly grungier, angstier" — compared to her earlier guitar-pop, soft-vocal-led work, Pylon pushes distortion and emotional intensity further to the front.
