Azymuth to Play First-Ever Solo Seoul Show on August 25, With Sabrina Malheiros as Guest
Brazilian jazz-funk group Azymuth will play Seoul on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 — their second visit to Korea, but the first time they've headlined a standalone show there. Founding bassist Alex Malheiros turned 80 on August 19, and his daughter, nu-bossa nova vocalist Sabrina Malheiros, is confirmed as a guest performer. Father-and-daughter shared billings are rare for the band on any stage worldwide.

Who Azymuth are
Azymuth formed in Brazil in 1975, blending samba, jazz, funk and rock. Their 1979 album Light As A Feather put them on the global map, and the same year's single "Jazz Carnival," recorded that year, reached the UK Top 20 in 1980 and remains the band's signature track.
Alex Malheiros canceled all of his tour dates last year, including a planned Seoul show, following emergency surgery. His return to the stage in good health, arriving in Seoul just six days after his 80th birthday, marks a rare milestone in the band's 51-year career. The show is organized by promoter Gimbab Records and represents a more fully realized standalone performance than the band's previous Korea visit.
