88balaz Announce 30th Anniversary Unplugged Tour: Seven Dates Across Taiwan

Taiwanese band 88balaz (八十八顆芭樂籽) have announced a seven-date "30th Anniversary Unplugged Tour," running from October 16, 2026 through December 5, 2026. The run kicks off at Taipei's Witch House and travels through Taichung, Kaohsiung, Tainan, Hengchun and Taitung, with the whole tour performed in a stripped-down, unplugged format. The band announced the dates on Instagram.
What was announced
All seven shows will feature acoustic/unplugged arrangements — a departure from the electrified festival and venue sets the band is typically known for. One date stands out: the November 27 show at Taipei's Kuhaha Mouth (苦哈哈之口) will be a solo performance by the band's guitarist, known as Aqiang (阿強), rather than a full-band set.

What we don't know yet
Ticket prices and on-sale links have not been announced; the band says details will be posted by each venue and on the band's official social channels. No lineup or setlist details beyond the unplugged format have been shared.
Why it matters
The tour marks 30 years for one of Taiwan's longest-running bands, and the choice of small live houses and bars over the larger festival stages they've played in the past gives it an intimate, career-retrospective feel.
A quirky announcement
The band's announcement post itself leaned into fan-culture humor, quoting at length from the villain DIO's dying speech in the manga/anime JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, including lines about immortality and "stand power," closing with "Not old! Not dying! And unplugged!" followed by a long string of "WRyyyyy" at the end of the post.
