About

Vagabond Festival (浪人祭) is one of Taiwan's best-loved indie/rock festivals, held each November on the seaside lawn beside the Anping Sunset Platform in Tainan. The 2026 edition runs 7–8 November under the theme "a century of fortune," tied to the 100th anniversary of the Tainan Canal. The draw is the setting — an open grass field right by the sea, famous for its sunset — paired with a deep bill of Taiwanese indie and rock plus international guests.

Lineup

Announced acts for 2026 include ano (JP), Sunset Rollercoaster (落日飛車), coldrain (JP), Bestards (理想混蛋), Sorry Youth ft. Xie Ming-you (拍謝少年 ft. 謝銘祐), Mimi Set (美秀集團), NELL (KR), Sunny Day Service (JP), Elephant Gym (大象體操), Been Stellar (US), Wayne's So Sad (傷心欲絕) and more, across a two-day multi-stage bill.

How foreigners buy tickets

  1. Platform: tickets sell via KKTIX (vagabondfest.kktix.cc). Create a free account, no Taiwanese ID required.
  2. Ticket types: two-day passes are the core (2-day presale around NT$3,600; discounted "sea-bird" early tickets around NT$3,300 sell out fast). Single-day presale is around NT$2,200. Prices rise at the gate — buy ahead.
  3. Payment: international Visa/Mastercard are accepted; no local phone number or 3D-Secure hurdle for most buyers. Have a backup card for peak on-sale times.
  4. Accommodation packages: the organiser also sells lodging bundles via KKTIX — useful as Tainan books up on festival weekend.

Getting there & staying

Route: fly into Kaohsiung (KHH), then THSR or train up to Tainan (~30–40 min). From Tainan, Anping is on the west coast of the city — take THSR Tainan + taxi/shuttle (~30 min), or a city bus (routes 2 / 19) toward Anping and walk to the seaside lawn.

Staying: base in central Tainan or Anping itself; book early, the festival weekend fills hotels. Bring a mat, sun protection and a light layer for the sea breeze after dark.

FAQ

Is Vagabond free / how do I get in?

No — it's ticketed via KKTIX. Buy a one- or two-day pass online in advance; gate prices are higher.

Can foreigners buy tickets?

Yes. KKTIX accepts international cards and doesn't require a Taiwanese ID or phone number.

Is there camping?

No on-site camping — it's a seaside lawn event. Book a hotel in Tainan/Anping, or grab one of the organiser's accommodation packages.
