Djakarta Warehouse Project (DWP) is the biggest dance music festival in Southeast Asia — a multi-day EDM spectacle held each December at the JIExpo Kemayoran expo grounds in Jakarta, drawing top international DJs and dance tourists from across the region. It's slickly produced, internationally marketed and English-friendly, and its indoor-plus-outdoor arena format makes it a comfortable destination event. Note it is an 18+ festival. 1. Buy online early — first-come, not a lottery. Tickets sell via GoTix (Gojek's ticketing) and Loket, plus the official site (djakartawarehouse.com); tiered passes and single-day tickets sell fast, so buy as soon as they release.
2. No local phone or ID required to buy. You register by email and can check out from overseas without an Indonesian number, address or national ID.
3. Foreign cards usually work. International Visa/Mastercard are accepted; expect a possible 3D-Secure/OTP step from the local gateway and keep a backup card ready.
4. Reseller fallback. If your card is rejected, Klook/KKday often list DWP and handle foreign cards — check whether you receive a direct QR e-ticket or a voucher to redeem on site.
5. QR e-ticket, exchanged for an RFID cashless wristband. At the venue your QR is swapped for an RFID wristband you preload for food and drinks — arrive early for the exchange, and bring your passport as it's an 18+ event with ID checks.

Route: fly into Soekarno-Hatta International (CGK); reach central Jakarta by Airport Rail Link or Grab/Gojek, then ride-hail to JIExpo Kemayoran.

Getting around: there's no rail to the venue, so Grab/Gojek (24h) is the norm — no last-train trap, but DWP finishes very late, so expect surge pricing and long ride queues at close; agree a meeting point outside the grounds.

Staying: it's a city event — stay in a Jakarta hotel (Kemayoran is closest) and commute by Grab; no camping. Book early, as the December date sits in peak travel season.

Bring: December is Jakarta's rainy season and parts of the site are open-air, so pack a poncho; it's hot and humid, and you'll want your passport (18+), some cash and a card to preload the wristband.
